Hello Tuesday.
May 07 2024
It’s almost time to hit the slopes, Seattle. We hope you’re excited.
While the mountains closest to us aren’t quite open yet, Whistler Blackcomb plans to welcome skiers and snowboarders next week. So here’s a little primer for the season up ahead.

First, if you're a beginner, you may have a few questions.
🏂 Do I need to buy equipment? No, it’s recommended you rent your first few times. See the businesses below for some options. ProSki also has discounted, used equipment that might peak your interest. 🏔️
🏂 How do I choose a resort? Some things that may factor into your choice are drive times, amount/quality of beginner trails, ticket prices, lodging choices, dining options, and parking availability. Powderhounds can also help you pick a spot.
🏂 Can I go alone? Yes, but take extra precautions if you do. You wouldn’t head off on a treacherous hike without telling someone where you’re going. Same situation here. Or, join a Meetup group and head out with some new friends.

Our cocktails must be catching up with us — is that the pink elephant?
Yes, Seattle, it is. The well-known and well-loved pink Elephant Car Wash sign was spotted in SoDo after it was taken down last year before the car wash was demolished.
Based on the sign’s location, it’s likely still undergoing restorative work before it heads to a more permanent location with MOHAI.
