Hello Thursday. April 18 2024 ICYMI, National Cookie Day was Sat., Dec. 4 — but the sugar rush is just getting started. With the holidays upon us, everyone will be on the hunt for the perfect sweet treats to liven up parties + sprinkle around general merriment. 🎉 Luckily, Seattle has no shortage of wonderful shops with tempting cookie creations, from delectable chocolate chip classics to nostalgia-driven snickerdoodles, and beyond. Below are some of our favorites that are totally sah-weet.
📍2407 E. Union St. ⏰ Times vary It’s worth visiting this Central District favorite — with an outpost in Georgetown — for the comforting smell alone. But the perfectly chewy selections are always on point, and the cookie cake slices are decadent delights.
📍2570 NE. University Village St. ⏰ Daily, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. One of Seattle’s most popular cookie destinations in the U District + Capitol Hill built a rep for seasonal hits (there are hot cocoa cookies, y’all), as well as playful takes on old standbys, including Mackle-smores and Totes Oats.
📍808 12th Ave. ⏰ Tues.-Wed., Sat., 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Thurs.-Fri., 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Those with a taste for nostalgia must try out this Capitol Hill shop, which specializes in after-school specials like snickerdoodles, Squareos + Nutter Butters. It also bakes fortune cookies with custom-messages inside.
🍪 Macadons 📍9828 16th Ave. SW. ⏰ Mon.-Wed., 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Thurs.-Sat., 11 a.m.-8 p.m. No matter what side of the “cookie vs. confection” debate you’re on, the macarons at this White Center shop are the perfect pick-me-up. With a variety of creative flavors like Cap’N Crunch Berry + Thai tea, there’s something to satisfy every sweet tooth. EVENTS

Editor’s Pick: After making reservations months ago, I finally got to the esteemed Canlis this weekend to check out what new head chef Aisha Ibrahim is cooking up. The dinner was fantastic — I had the duck, as well as super tender shaved wagyu — with an emphasis on local ingredients + Japanese-influenced comfort dishes. Dashi for days.
